LANSING―Sen. Phil Pavlov, R-St. Clair Township, will chair the Senate Committee on Education and serve as vice chair for the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee for School Aid for the 98th Legislature.
“A quality education is the key to a successful future for our children, as well as for the state of Michigan,” Pavlov said. “Over the last four years, we have tackled many difficult education issues. Looking ahead, I know there is more we can do for Michigan students from both the policy side and the funding side, and I am honored to have been asked to help lead that work.”
Pavlov is not new to the Education Committee. He has chaired the committee for the last four years.
Pavlov also was named vice chairman of the Natural Resources Committee and the Seniors and Human Services Committee. He also will serve as a member of the Transportation Committee.
“My first loyalty is always to residents of the Thumb,” Pavlov said. “Working for them and focusing on our region’s natural resources, our families and schools is a privilege.”
